Are the All Blacks all blue?

AllBlacks

The world’s most successful professional sports team from all accounts appear to be politically aligned to the National Government. From this ZB Talkback article that was deleted by Government censors, the Health Minister Jonathon Coleman must be coaching the All Blacks

Of course the disciples of hate blogs will make accusations of envy that I harbour feelings of discontent or covetousness with regard to the Nat’s success. Wrong I believe the All Blacks reputation is being compromised from being politically aligned to the National Government.

The New Zealand Rugby Union are very supportive of  the National Government, and for good reason the Government contributed to the success of the Rugby World cup, but it’s important the Rugby Union know that a growing section of the New Zealand public see this Government negatively over important issues like the TPPA and Feed the Kids bill and that has a flow on effect to the popularity of the All Blacks.

Many New Zealanders have lost interest in the National Government  since the feed the kids bill was voted down. This act of cruelty has many New Zealanders feeling uncomfortable rallying behind our greatest sports team.

I used to be fanatical about Jonah Lomu and used to carry a picture of Jonah in my wallet. I’m no longer a fan of Lomu, due to his undying support of a Government that has done nothing for the Tongan community. Lomu is supporting a Government that is ruthless enough to blame parents for not affording school lunches and refused to feed starving Tongan kids in schools across South Auckland.

Do we want our National sports team being used as political lobbying apparatus. What happens when the National Government becomes deeply unpopular, will the public opinion of the All Blacks be affected.
