David Rankin a member of the anti-maori lobby group NZCPR (New Zealand centre of political research) Rankin once called for  the Waitangi Tribunal to be dissolved and refer’s to Iwi including Ngapuhi as “tribal corporations the Waitangi tribunal is trying to enrich”. Rankin  is now promoting Islamaphobia for Waitangi day by demanding a ban on Burqa at Waitangi.

“They are coming to our country and refusing to accept the indigenous values of Aotearoa.”

Rankins Islamaphobia is inconsistent with our founding national document the Treaty of Waitangi, article four stipulates religious freedom. Sources within Ngapuhi have advised Rankin  is a one man band and has self-promoted himself beyond his authority as a spokesman, allegedly Rankin has no authority to speak on behalf of Ngapuhi and these radical outbursts have caused alot of pain within the Iwi.
