MP Steven Joyce is set  to pour $20 million dollars from the trade and industry budget into the team New Zealand bid for the 2017 America’s cup challenge; this will be topped up by another $10 million by the Auckland ratepayer to a total of $30 Million dollars. Last time New Zealand competed in the Americas cup Team New Zealand Lost.

As this National government funds rich people’s games like the America’s Cup it will continue to avoid investing in our country’s greatest resource the next generations of New Zealanders. The National government has blocked the feed the kid’s bill at every opportunity. Feeding children in schools has been deemed too expensive by government bureaucrats but they are silent in regards to corporate welfare for billion dollar yacht races.

The National government is out of touch with New Zealanders while living lavish lifestyles of excess and wealth. Pretending a Bermuda sporting event is the most effective way to promote the New Zealand brand.  Recently Joyce backtracked on bailing out Sky city convention centre for $130 Million but is still determined to waste tax payer money. The National parties Tax payers union is being complicit and has refused to attack Joyce in the same manner it made a character assassination against writer Eleanor Catton.

Mana News have a few suggestions how Team New Zealand can avoid bludging off the tax payer

*Deane Barker sell his Multimillion dollar Herne bay house.

*Grant Dalton sell his $100k Ducati Motorcycle limited edition 1199 Panigale R.

*Reduce Team New Zealand salaries to those of working class New Zealanders.

*Steven Joyce ask the National party to use its $7 Million of campaign funds.

*John Key fund it with his personal wealth he has a spare $50 Million dollars.
