France is determined to stop terrorism at all costs after the terrorists attacks in Paris, millions of people and world leaders marched the streets of Paris against terrorism. The last time New Zealand suffered a terrorist attack was from France in 1985.  Secret Agents from the DGSE planted limpet mines on the vessel Rainbow Warrior in Auckland Harbour and killed an innocent man Fernando Pereira. Some of the terrorists were extracted in the nuclear submarine Rubis that entered our nuclear free zone.  Two terrorists were captured Captain Dominique Prieur and Commander Alain Mafart . Alain Mafart after serving a few years for manslaughter returned to France to resume his military career and was promoted to the rank of Colonel. Dominque Prieuer infiltrated Greenpeace as a volunteer for nearly six months was also returned to France and  promoted to the rank of commandant.

France was embarrassed about the international outrage to the bombing of Mururoa and Fangataufa. The long term effects of the nuclear test bombing- death of many Tahitian workers from radiation poisoning and the genetic  illnesses passed on to their children . Some of those children of the radiation workers have chosen suicide rather than pass these defects on to a younger generation. Many widows have never spoken out as the French have paid some of their living costs in return for silence.

This state sponsored terrorism was an Act of war from an ally we fought defending in two world wars. The French imposed trade sanctions on New Zealand to bully us into releasing the terrorists. I’m skeptical on how much France genuinely deplores Terrorism maybe they only oppose Islamic Terrorism, or they would discipline the high ranking officers that attacked New Zealand and repeal their military honours.
