The Key led National government repeatedly shows blatant disregard for their Treaty partner.  Whilst they pretend and posture when the Television cameras are in attendance, the truth is that they are hell bent on allowing control of our land and Companies to be usurped by foreign investors, are begging foreign oil companies to come  drill deep wells  in our pristine oceans and from which Maori will not share in any profits, but as sure as hell we will  be left with all of any mess they cause.  At the same time the Key government is secretly negotiating a trade deal which is so disadvantageous to New Zealand that they are unwilling to tell us what it is all about, while changing the rules that protect our environment. All of these government actions will further disadvantage Maori.

For too long Maori have been far to polite, far to passive and much too reserved in demonstrating their passion for that which is rightfully theirs and for that which was agreed to in the Treaty of Waitangi on February 6th 1840.  Surely the time is right for Maori to “Stand Up & Fight Back”. Let us tell Key and his government that they have gone too far, that the time is right for Maori to unite, take up their Taiaha, their Mere and their Patu and will fight to ensure that our Civil Rights are respected and maintained.

Kia Kaha!
