Stop the TPPA

Minto Mana Vice President John Minto

Trojan horse

The Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement has an innocent sounding name but it’s very dangerous for New Zealand and must be stopped.

The government says it’s just about increasing trade but they are not telling the truth. It’s really a bill of rights for United States corporations to come and plunder our economy.

If the deal goes ahead we will be paying more for things medicines, movies and music and our government will not be able to pass laws to protect New Zealanders rights to decent health and education. If the government does anything which could reduce the profits of foreign companies they can sue our government in overseas tribunals for billions.

For example the Australian government is being sued by tobacco companies because their government wants to enforce plain packaging for cigarettes.

Make sure there are plenty of MANA flags at demonstrations around the country against the TPPA.
