Today the Prime minister is going to outline his deployment to Iraq. To be realistic this will be a long term engagement approximately a 10 year war, the second Iraq war was from 2003-2011 longer than world war two.

Islamic state is posting videos on the internet designed to bait the west. Islamic State wants a holy war and New Zealand is playing right into their hands. When  the Prime minister claims we are sending troops to Iraq in only a training capacity that really means the SAS will be embedded with Iraqi units fighting alongside the Iraqi Army.

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule.  Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding.  Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

In the eyes of Islamic State New Zealand is an infidel nation. We are offering Islamic State a way to radicalize Muslims to join their cause from Muslim countries across the middle east. Currently Islamic state controls a sympathetic population of 30 Million people and this is going to be a long drawn out war.
