The National party  is poised to sell thousands of State houses to community groups. The Prime minister John Key who was raised in state housing is taking a neo-liberal approach to state housing by selling off state owned assets. So far Nationals superficial attempts to tackle the housing crisis is to make the crisis much worse. The organisations that will be awarded the state housing can immediately sell the houses off, at  large profit for short term gain to property speculators. This wont help first home buyers into affordable  housing or the 5,000 New Zealanders on the Housing New Zealand waiting list.

New Zealand is in the middle of a housing crisis the logical solution is to build a housing factory and employ thousands  of workers. With a target of 20,000 state houses and allow New Zealanders to live in this housing for life. As the National government gets further out of touch with the New Zealand public, Mana Movement has a policy of building 20,000 state homes.
