Stuff also declared the Maori King had been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stuff.co.nz\/national\/71363090\/Ngapuhi-leader-tells-Maori-king-of-Huntly-to-keep-out-of-Auckland?cid=app-android\">told off\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0by the\u00a0insignificant\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">David Rankin. Click <a href=\"http:\/\/e-tangata.co.nz\/news\/we-have-heard-more-than-enough-from-david-rankin\">h<\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/e-tangata.co.nz\/news\/we-have-heard-more-than-enough-from-david-rankin\">ere<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> is a full appraisal of David Rankin&#8217;s position within Maoridom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The anonymous editor\u00a0asked the opinion of Winston Peters\u00a0in a PR campaign to set public opinion against any legitimate Treaty claim. Making every effort to avoid \u00a0journalism that intentionally and transparently adopts a non-objective viewpoint,<\/p>\n<p>Sir Pita Sharples <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newstalkzb.co.nz\/news\/national\/concerns-over-maori-kings-claim\/\">discouraged<\/a>\u00a0King Tuheitia\u00a0worried it could undermine claims from other Iwi. A\u00a0divide and conquer a strategy used often by the crown. An invisible rule\u00a0the crown can only offer the bare minimum\u00a0in compensation to Iwi.<\/p>\n<p>The Kingitanga \u00a0claim to Tamaki Makaurau\u00a0is legitimate\u00a0this Iwi owned a vast territory right up to Mangere mountain possibly further to the Karangahape Pa.<\/p>\n<p>The claim could possibly be war reparations for the invasion of the Waikato.
